Iron Sharpens Iron

I am part of a group of children’s leaders who used to gather annually and probably would benefit from starting it up again!  We called ourselves the New Revival Generation wanting to equip children’s leaders to see God empower and release children in our nation.  It is a place of sharing, testimony, encouragement and prayer.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Proverbs 27 verse 17

The idea was that we would be there to spur each other on, challenge each other and be accountable to each other.

It was in one of these sessions that Rachel Turner (at BRF Parenting For Faith) shard with me about feeling like a Chef ‘cooking up ideas for children’s ministry, a bit of this and a bit of that and bam! there’s a meal for you and a meal for you’ (a paraphrase of her comment!)

My mind raced.  That’s what it feels like to be a children’s ministry consultant, practitioner and trainer.  I identified with that idea. I banked the idea – as all good children’s leaders do!

So who do you know who can help you stay sharp?  Maybe this site can help you? Maybe you know someone who can ‘sharpen you like iron sharpens iron’?  If you do get in touch with them.
